Teen Vogue Fashion Live 2008!!!

Privacy State Hoodie

Yes indeed, the annual show was made into one of the craziest events of the year. Mixing young music stars, huge sponsors, Huntington Beach, tons of teens, food, waves, surfing, and the best in fashion, you could expect it was the happening party of the summer and PrivacyWear was present.

Arriving at the beach, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew there was a fashion show and all but I didn’t really know what to look for. The directions said it would be below the boardwalk by Savannah’s restaurant. So, I immediately assumed the usual catwalk in an intimate setting at the establishment. And that was fine, I was already for it. Or at least I thought I was.

Trying to find a sane person in an asylum was easier than the parking situation on the beachfront. But eventually, a spot was made mine. I walked a little less than a quarter of a mile and saw something pleasantly cool: tons of people and tons of tents! Turns out, this event was a once-a-year phenomenon; a mesh of surfing competition and the freshest beach-friendly companies brought a little spark to the Cali heat wave. In association with GO211.com and the US Open of Surfing presented by Oakley, the Teen Vogue Fashion Live event was the main attraction on day 7 of the 240 hour festivities. I scoped out the scene and found that every person in the OC was out and about. With summer vacation and the allure of beach water, people flooded the sands and packed the area.

Big sponsors and an even bigger stage made there imprint in the sand. Some favorites included Red Bull, Garnier Fructis, and ESPN’s X-Games. I browsed the collective of tents and booths and grabbed a few goodies for myself. Making my way to the Teen Vogue VIP tent, a sea of teens and youth had the air full of sand and anticipation for a glimpse of the host, Jesse McCartney. Nearly trampling each other for the best position near the platform, I watched the gambit of wild kids and safely wiggled myself through to my destination.

Fully catered and overly lively, the VIP space stayed as jubilant as the fan-fair. There, I was greeted by tons of PR and Execs of the highly renowned company. The place was colorfully decorated making it perfect for the beach atmosphere. Soon after I got comfortable in the tent, McCartney came down the runway and quickly amped the crowd for some summer fashion looks. Privacy was joined by the biggest names in fashion including Nikewomen, American Apparel, and Vans. Wave after wave of lovely models strutted to the hyped hip-hop sounds creating an enjoyable vibe. PrivacyWear was shown justice as attractive models flossed the denim, tee, and hoodie looks from your favorite clothing line. The reception over the pieces was pleasantly appreciated. Following the fashion expo were outstanding performances by OC native HelloGoodbye and Jesse McCartney. With great fashion, music, and food, the crowd stayed live the entire outing; it was a tremendous time!

PrivacyWear is making serious strides in the fashion industry and many like Teen Vogue are taking notice. Check out these images from an incredible day in the sun!
